About the Position
The Ogden Valley Adaptive Sports (OVA) Executive Director implements OVA’s mission to remove barriers for people with disabilities through life-changing outdoor sports and recreation opportunities. The role involves strategic leadership, fundraising, community engagement, and direct involvement in coaching and program development. The position is full time, salaried, and overtime exempt with a mixture of office/administrative and outdoor work. Applicants must submit a cover letter and resume to be considered for the job.
Responsibilities
-Lead the organization and implement the strategic vision and mission. Guide and direct four fulltime all season and >20 seasonal part time employees as well as >50 volunteer staff.
-Act as OVA's public face, representing the organization at events and with media, partners, and other stakeholders.
-Build relationships with key partners to expand the company's reach, including local businesses and community organizations.
-Ensure financial health, implement fundraising efforts including grant writing, and develop relationships with donors and sponsors.
-Oversee operational activities, help plan and implement adaptive recreation programs for people with disabilities, Engage directly with participants.
-Interface with the Board of Trustees on strategic direction and progress, achieving budgetary goals, challenges, and opportunities.
-Promote outdoor adaptive recreation through social media, outreach and public speaking engagements.
-Expand OVA’s impact through new program ideas and events.
Requirements
-Demonstrable strong organizational leadership and financial management experience. Effectively identify and prioritize tasks, execute plans and actions, identify and measure expected results, and meet deadlines.
-Demonstrable fundraising, donor development and grant writing experience.
-Demonstrable passion for outdoor sports and recreation, including skiing or snowboarding. PSIA/AASI certification is a plus.
-Experience with adaptive recreation and working with persons with disabilities are a plus.
-Demonstrable strong communication skills, including social media, oral, writing, and public speaking.
-Demonstrable commitment to equity and advocacy for the rights of people with disabilities.

OVA started in 2009 as an adaptive ski and snowboard school. OVA’s prime partner is Snowbasin Resort, America’s #1 rated ski resort and future home of the 2034 Paralympic and Olympic Winter Games. All para-alpine and snowboard events will be held at Snowbasin. OVA also partners with Powder Mountain resort, Nordic Valley resort, and Ogden Nordic. OVA provides adaptive cycling, mountain biking, water sports, and indoor rock climbing at various locations in and around Ogden, Utah. The Executive Director has access to all of these world-class venues.-

Compensation: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
Ogden Valley Adaptive (OVA) Sports is an independent 501 c (3) nonprofit organization. We began in 2009 as Snowbasin Adaptive Sports and Education Foundation (SASEF) and since 2015 have been doing business as (dba) Ogden Valley Adaptive Sports. Our vision and mission are as follows:

Dedicated staff and volunteers are the core to OVA’s success. With a current staff of four full-time and over 20 seasonal professional employees, OVA provides over 750 winter adaptive ski and snowboard encounters and over 750 “warm weather” outdoor recreation encounters. OVA is on a growth curve to exceed 1000 each within two years. None of this could be done without the over 70 dedicated volunteers who work side-by-side with the OVA employees. OVA is a member ski school of the Professional Ski Instructors of America / American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA- AASA).
